CAIRNS FENCING
As Operations Manager at Cairns Fencing, Courtney Shields leads the day-to-day delivery of the business and drives a culture focused on supply quality and practical execution. He is recognised internally for deep product knowledge and correct application of fencing systems suited to tropical conditions, alongside strong capability in gate automation troubleshooting and support.
Courtney has also prioritised workforce development through Cairns Fencing’s workshop apprenticeship program and mentoring of installers. He provides hands on direction and coaching to build competent, productive team members, including managing current apprentices and supporting progression pathways into estimator and project management roles. He also works with designers and architects to translate design intent into buildable fencing outcomes and has adopted newer solutions, such as aluminium battens and perforated screening, where they fit the brief.
