Craig Gibbens founded Protective Fencing in 1975 at age 17, building on a family wire-manufacturing heritage dating back to 1907, and has worked in the fencing industry for 50 years.
He grew the business from a single chainwire machine into a large-scale commercial and security fencing manufacturer, establishing a purpose-built 3,500 sqm manufacturing facility in Somersby in 2006 and positioning the company as the largest chainwire fencing producer in NSW.
Beyond his own business, he contributed to industry governance by serving as an advisor on Australian Standard AS1725-2003 (chain-link fabric security fences and gates) and by serving as President of the Australian Wire Association.
