The Queensland Government is inviting applications for funding under the Queensland Feral Pest Initiative (QFPI) to support the construction of exclusion fencing across the state.
The program aims to help landholders protect livestock from feral pests such as wild dogs through regionally coordinated pest management and new exclusion fencing projects.
Key Details
Funding available: Up to $5,000 per kilometre of new exclusion fencing, capped at 50 km or $250,000 per project.
Co-contribution required: Applicants must contribute at least 50 per cent of total project costs.
Eligibility: Open to landholders engaged in livestock grazing (cattle, sheep, goats) who can demonstrate losses from wild dog predation and hold an active ABN.
Project requirements: Fencing must be new (not repairs), meet standard specifications, and be completed within three years.
Since its inception, the initiative has provided more than $29 million to regional communities, supporting practical biosecurity measures and strengthening on-ground pest management.
Applications close 11:59 pm, Friday 31 October 2025.
