Fencing included in new funding for Victorian school upgrades

Fencing contractors and suppliers have an opportunity to support upcoming school projects, with the latest round of the Capital Works Fund now open to all Victorian government schools.

The fund allows schools to apply for grants of up to:

  • $50,000 for small-scale priority or condition-related works

  • $300,000 for student inclusion and accessibility projects

  • $500,000 for larger-scale infrastructure upgrades

Fencing is specifically listed among the eligible project types, alongside classroom refurbishments, roof repairs, covered walkways, bike shelters, outdoor learning areas and more.

Fencing upgrades continue to play a critical role in school safety and asset protection—ensuring clear site boundaries, preventing unauthorised access, and supporting safe and inclusive environments for students and staff.

Contractors working in educational settings are encouraged to connect with local school leadership teams and facility managers to discuss how compliant, fit-for-purpose fencing can form part of their funding application.

Applications for the Capital Works Fund close Friday, 4 July 2025.
