Gary Craig is the designer of the Climb Stop safety wedge for timber pool fencing, developed to address climbing risk on horizontal rails and help maintain pool fence compliance over time.
Drawing on 30 years in building and fencing and his more recent product design and manufacturing work, he identified practical shortcomings in traditional timber wedges used to meet the 60-degree wedge requirement, including splitting, bowing and early deterioration.
Climb Stop was designed as a durable, easy-to-install and visually discreet PVC alternative, with the aim of improving long-term compliance outcomes and making installation achievable for both contractors and home handymen. The product is also used in non-pool applications where a climbing deterrent is required, including reducing dog escape and improving property security on timber fencing.
