Fencing Pilot Program participants announced

The fencing industry’s Pilot Agricultural Fencing Course is scheduled for May 6th to 8th, 2024, at the TAFE NSW campus in Orange, New South Wales. Twelve participants have been selected for full funding under the AgSkilled program, subsidised by Training NSW.

The four units making up this Skill Set:

  • Workplace Health and Safety Processes
  • Farm Fencing Installation, Maintenance and Repair
  • Basic Electric Fencing Operations
  • Conventional Fencing Planning and Construction.

During this comprehensive three-day course, participants will learn to craft and maintain fences for farms and rural properties.

They will explore installation, repair, and maintenance techniques to excel in the fencing industry.

Waratah Fencing have offered to provide technical assistance and products for the pilot.

Fencing Industry Australia’s Skills Pathway Initiative Advisory Committee will evaluate this 3 day course upon completion to equips participants with the skills demanded in the rural fencing sector.

Additional fencing skill sets are being developed for release in the coming months.

This Pilot Program is a significant step forward for the Australian fencing industry.
