A major upgrade at Gilgandra Speedway has delivered a full safety-barrier solution, including a new concrete track wall and an integrated catch-fence system, allowing racing to resume under significantly improved safety standards.
Key Safety Infrastructure
Concrete Barrier Wall: A continuous reinforced wall now surrounds the 426-metre clay track, providing a robust containment structure for high-speed events.
Catch-Fence System: Installed above the barrier wall, the new safety fence is engineered to prevent vehicles, debris, and flying objects from reaching spectator areas.
Upgraded Pit Gate: Controlled-access upgrades ensure safer movement between the pit area, track, and spectator zones.
These works modernise the venue’s protective infrastructure, bringing the speedway in line with contemporary safety expectations and supporting the return of competitive racing.
