Fencing Industry Australia is reviewing existing training units listed on the national training register to identify which are most relevant to fencing and gate contractors.
The survey’s purpose is to narrow down the broad list of available units and select those that best reflect the real-world skills required across different types of fencing work.
The feedback collected from the industry through this process will be used to develop focused Skill Sets that align with actual roles in the field – such as rural fencing, pool fencing, gate automation, and retaining structures. These Skill Sets will form the basis for nationally recognised training pathways and support future qualification development.
This is part of a broader industry-led initiative to ensure that fencing-specific training is practical, fit-for-purpose and reflects the diversity of work performed across the sector.
