Colour Earth Wrought Iron designed and installed over 75 metres of external and internal balustrades, gates, fences, Juliet balconies, and staircases for this inner-suburban Melbourne residence.
The project required a flexible design to accommodate Australian building regulations, including restrictions for falls over 4 metres.
Precision was critical, with over 200 holes drilled and chemically set into the sub-concrete structure to ensure accurate alignment before the cappings were installed.
The balustrades were crafted using solid bar materials, with handrails featuring integrated wiring for under-rail lighting.
The installation was finished in a bronze verdigris, with handmade collets gilded in 24ct gold leaf.
